Amazing Quilted Knit + the Lane Raglan

When I was in Colorado a few weeks ago, my friend Erin took me to Colorado fabrics (same shopping trip where I bought this skirt fabric). I stumbled upon some AMAZING quilted knit (I’ve been searching for the perfect quilted knit for a while) and had to snatch some up. My vision was to make a simple raglan-style tee/sweatshirt with contrasting arms, so I consulted the most simple pattern in my stash: the Lane Raglan. I love this top.. it is SO versatile. I’ve been itching to make one for several months, but knew I wanted a plainer version to wear all the time and the only knits in my stash are full on print and color. I couldn’t find the perfect contrast for the sleeves, so I held on to the quilted knit. I actually stumbled upon this dark charcoal ponte knit at Jo-Ann a few weeks later. It contrasted well, so I picked some up.

I really love how this turned out. Both knits are similar in weight and softness, so I know I’ll be wearing my new sweatshirt/top a lot this winter!

Pattern: Lane Raglan

Fabric: Bodice- Colorado Fabrics, Arms + Cuffs- Jo-Ann

Size sewn: Medium

Adjustments I made: Lengthened the bodice 1.5″, cut the bottom cuff and the sleeve cuffs in half

Now I am off to prepare for taking a few days away for Thanksgiving. I hope (if you’re celebrating) that it is a lovely holiday spend with family and friends!

  1. Just when I was telling myself that I don’t have to buy the Lane Raglan during Black Friday, you come with this. All good resolutions are gone…
