Cheyenne Tunic

Getting back into the swing of things sewing-wise since I had Tinsley has not been easy! I have to admit, newborns take up a lot more time than I had anticipated. Yes, they sleep most of the day, but they also require being fed every three-ish hours, the house requires cleaning, the dog requires walking, the food requires cooking, orders require filling, emails require being responded to, etc. etc. etc. SO, the first project back since having my lil lady, had to be a special one. I knew I wanted to wear Adrianna’s newest pattern, the Cheyenne Tunic, to Thanksgiving lunch, so I gave myself a deadline + worked towards my goal a little bit at a time over the course of about 2 weeks. I absolutely love how it turned out. I met my goal and it was perfect for Thanksgiving lunch.

I sewed the View B long-sleeved version and only made two minor cosmetic changes to the whole pattern. I added a third button to the placket (since my buttons were smaller than the required size) and I added slits to the sides to give it a little bit more detailing. The fabric is a dotted shirting from Hancock Fabrics that has a really nice drape and texture. It was screaming to be made into a Cheyenne! Cheyenne Tunic //

Top: Cheyenne Tunic (pattern // fabric (similar)), bracelets: LovelyB, earrings c/o Hued Designs, jeans: Gap, boots: Frye

I LOVE how it turned out and can’t wait to make another. I’ll probably use one of Art Gallery’s new denims that are coming out in January. I felt them at market in October and OH. MY. GOODNESS. they’re amazing. And some of them are PRINTED! I can’t wait.

What do you think? Have you sewn anything like this lately?

  1. Goodness, how pretty you are! I certainly didn’t look like that after I had my babies! Lovely short too!
