I am excited to be joining Melly Sews for the 3rd (or 4th?) year in a row for her Summer Sundressing series. It gave me a fun opportunity to mash up a couple of my favorite patterns to create a summer sundress fit for a (very) preggo lady 😉
In 2014, I made a Swimsuit Coverup (with a tutorial), in 2015, I made ANOTHER Swimsuit Coverup (with another tutorial) and last year.. in 2016, I reviewed Melissa’s book and made a fun off the shoulder summer top.
For this dress, I used my Coffee Shop Dress, Coffee Shop Dress Maternity Hack and the San Francisco Swing Dress patterns mashed together to create this sleeveless, ruched maternity dress perfect for the hot summer months.
I have been saving this fabric for something special, and I am sooo happy I used it for this project. It’s from Bonnie Christine’s Hello Ollie collection for Art Gallery and I love it! Tinsley kept pointing at my dress all evening saying “eyes! eyes!” hehe 🙂
I used the armscye and sleeve bands from the San Francisco Swing Dress, the body and neckline of the Coffee Shop Dress and the maternity hack I created for the CSD to add the ruching for my growing belly. I love how it turned out and I really love that it’s knit + so comfy to wear.
I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!
XOXO + Happy Sewing,
